VbaRobot installation procedure

Please go through the following four points to complete installation:

1) Change settings & check your Office application:
  • change settings in Trust Center in Office applications -> follow the steps below:
  • create folder on your C drive: “c:\VbaRobot”,
  • open ACCESS and go to: Options-> Trust Center-> Trust Center Settings-> Trusted Locations-> Add new location,
  • enter location “c:\VbaRobot\” and mark “Subfolders of this location are also trusted”, confirm OK, do the same for EXCEL, WORD. It should looks like below:
  • open EXCEL and go to: Options-> Trust Center-> Trust Center Settings-> Macro Settings: in mark “Trust access to the VBA ….” as on below pic (to allow running macros from external app like ACCESS), confirm OK, do the same for WORD. It should looks like below:
  • If you still have problems with running macros mark additionally in ACCESS, EXCEL, WORD, OUTLOOK “Enable all macros … ” in Macro Setings section. You can also add the following settings in ACCESS, EXCEL, WORD (not mandatory): in Message Bar section mark “Never show information about blocked content”, and in EXCEL in section External Content mark “Enable all Data…”, “Enable automatic updates …” and  “Enable all Linked data …”.
  • open OUTLOOK and go to: Options-> Trust Center-> Trust Center Settings-> Programmatic Access: The “Antivirus status” must be “Valid”, if the status is different, you must update your anti-virus application! If not, Outlook will generate below popup window while trying to send email by VBA. If the setting “Never warn me about suspicious activity (not recommended)” is available then you can turn it on and that’s OK for VbaRobot.

  • if you are using Microsoft Exchange then open OUTLOOK and go to: File-> Account Settings-> Account Settings-> Email->Change : set Cached Exchange Mode for short period (1 week). Additionally, keep only one account. Both suggestions will minimize the occurrence of the warning : “Outlook has exhausted all shared resources …”. If it will not help uncheck “Use Cached Exchange Mode …” .

  • open Internet Explorer and add www.w3schools.com to “Allowed sites” (it’s used in example process “PN_ExampleInternetExplorer_API”) :
  • check if your Office (not Windows !) installation type is 32 bits or 64 bits:

ONLY 64 bits Office can by used with VbaRobot system !

If you have 32-bit Office, you’ll need to reinstall the 64-bit package.

2) Download 7-zip package and get “6×8 Comp stamp” from VbaRobotServer file:
  • extract 7-zip package to folder “c:\VbaRobot\” (you must use this folder to run our examples correctly!),
  • open file “VbaRobotServer.accdb” and copy “6×8 Comp stamp” from window  “UnlockKeys” (point 2).

(*)“6×8 Comp stamp” format is: “xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx” , “x” can be one of 0-9,A,B,C,D,E,F.

3) Get by email “6×4 BusinessKey” to unlock VbaRobot system:
  • go to promotion page:
  • (1) type in”4×4 Promotion code” 7777-7777-7777-7777,(2) type in “6×8 Comp stamp” from (3) VbaRobotServer, (4) type in other info + tick privacy and click (5) “SEND ME PROMOTION BUSINESS KEY” to generate “6×4 BusinessKey” by email
  • promotion BusinessKey will be send out immediately on your email address.

(*) “4×4 Promotion code” format is: “xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx” , “x” can be one of 0-9.
(*) “6×4 BusinessKey” format is: “xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx-xxxxxx” , “x” can be one of 0-9,A,B,C,D,E,F.

4) Activate VbaRobotServer:
  • after receiving your “6×4 BusinessKey” by email open again “VbaRobotServer.accdb”, window “UnlockKeys” should appear -> follow the steps below:
  • (A) go to point 1 on window: read and accept the terms in End User Licence Agreement (EULA),
  • (B) go to point 4 on window: mark one of checkbox to unhide field: “BusinessKey”,
  • (B) enter your “6×4 BusinessKey”,
  • (C) you can check the license expiration date by clicking “Check Key”,
  • (D) click green button “Open VbaRobotServer….”.
  • if everything OK VbaRobotServer front page should appear, installation is completed!
  • Important! before using VbaRobotServer read info in file “ReadMe before first use of VbaRobotServer” in the main “c:\VbaRobot\” folder.
